are to enjoy the occasion with the

The Christian Endeavor society of tho
First Congregational church will hold a
socialthis evening in the churoh parlors
to which all young people are most
cordially invited It is expected that
the occasion will prove one of great
social enjoyment and all who can
should participate
A message received this morning an
nounces the death of Mrs Bernard
Grant at G oclock in the Sisters hospital
at Salt Lake City Utah Mr Grant
went out there last Sunday and tho en
tiro family with the exception of Coun
cilman Ed Grant was at her bedside
when she passed away Ho left this
morning on tho Union Pacific train to
attend the funeral She will probably
bo buried beside her son Joe who was
killed out there in a railroad wreck about
a year ago Tho deceased has been ail
ing for years and when she went out to
attend her sons fuuerul tho climate
seemed to agree with her She there
fore returned to Utah this summer hop
ing for a beneficial result to her health
but the change proved useless aud her
trouble resulted in death She was an
old settler in Norfolk and raised quite
a family of children all of whom have
attained an ago when they are beyond
tho need of a mothers care but her
death will be sincerely mourned by them
as well as a large circle of frieuds in
Norfolk
