An effort is being made to organize a
brass band of 30 pieces in Fremont and
the city council has been asked to con
tribute toward defraying the expense of
keeping a competent musical director
Rev Jason Gallup and his son Ralph
formerly residents of Lyons this state
were instantly killed by lightning Tues
day afternoon while at work upon their
rice plantation at Roanake Louisiana
The temperature last night seemed
cold enough for a froBt bnt none was
