possible to estimate
Tho machinery pumps boilers etc
are in good working order due to the
eilicient work and care of Charles O

The preseut system of paying for
water is in my opinion unjust unfair
and one sided giving as it does the ad
vantage to the dishonest careless con
sumer who wastes water and causing
the nones t careiui consumer to pay
more for water than he should This
evil can in my opinion only be reme
died when tne amount of water con
sumed is measured out to eaoh one and
each oomumer pays only for what he
uses The result of putting in water
meters in other towns around us so far
as I have been able to learn has been
favorable saving as it does in the con
sumption of coal the great item of cost
in operating the works and stopping
the immense waste of water by careless
indifferent consumers for I am satisfied
that its the waste of water and not the
use that causes the cost of our water
system
Very respectfully
