H. H. Myers of Red Deer was
in town Saturday and sold a load
of potatoes at § 1 per bushel.
Mrs. Cutsinger of Ainsworth
came up Sunday night for a visit
with John Slonecker and family.
It is now thought the new wat
er works and electric light plant
will be in operation by October 1 ,
1911.
Frank Fischer went to Ains
worth last Monday and pla.ved
with tbe military band at their cel
ebration.
Hammond & Bullis have pur
chased the 40 h. p. Cutting auto
mobile from D. McLeod , for their
livery business.
J. W. Stetter will hold a horse
and mule sale on Saturday July

Mrs. R. P. Hoxey and daughter
Harriet have gone to Victor , Colo. ,
for a visit with the former's broth
er. They will also visit relatives
in Colorado Springs.
E. Olson joined his family at
Merriman Sunday to spend the
4th. Mr. Olson tried a little fish
ing while away and is now nurs
ing badly sun-burned wrists.
Mrs. Abi Mason of St. Joseph ,
Mo. , came Saturday night for an
extended visit with her parents ,
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Cramer , and
other relatives. Mr. Mason will
come later for a short visit.
The advertising committee of
the Fraternal Picnic , Corn Show
an 1 Farmers' Institute are getting
out about 7,000 envelopes for dis
tribution among the merchants ad
vertising the attractions and dates
for this big event.
Crookston drew an unusually
large crowd to the celebration on
the 4th. The broncho busting
was o > d , as was the ball game be
tween Crookston and Kilgore.
The former was the victor , score
8 to 7. The Kilgore band furnish
ed music throughout the day.
Erastus Lee Sellers , executor of
the estate of the late Charles P.
Sellers , has filed a § 10,000 damage
suit against Geo. D. Weed , Alma
Weed , Flora Weed , Eunice Mur
phy , A. Heath , Kenneth Murphy ,
and Harry Heath. Allen G. Fis
her and Wm. P. Roobey are atto ; -
neys for plaintiff.
Tbe men who have in charge
the County Collectn e exhibits to
be shown at the State Fair Sep
tember 4th to 8th report that the
dry "weather is making it neces
sary for additional work to keep
the best exhibit of Agricultural
products to be shown in the United
States this year , up to its usual
high standard. One of these men
says "I have already worked ray
corn six times , jind am going
through it each week until the loth
of August with a single row culti
vator so you can depend on it that
our county will have this year corn
to show , rain or no rain. "
