Louisville Bridge, Now Toll Free, Repainted Just Prior to Its Purchase by State. Under the terms of a resolution passed by the County Commissioners at their first meeting in September, the cash balance left in the Louis ville State Aid Toll Bridge fund at the time the bridge was taken over by the state and made toll free, has been paid to the Department of Roads and Irrigation of the State of Ne braska, to be applied on the $62, 010.57 paid by the state to the bridge company. The bridge was re painted just rrior to the transfer and turned over to the highway de partment of the state in first class condition. The Commissioners approved re newal Mothers' Tension orders , by the County Judge for Maggie Her rington, Elsie K. Tweton and Belle Coakley. An agreement was also entered into permitting Christian C. Stohl- man to divert surplus water from terraces in his farm to the public road adjacent thereto.- , ,. The claim bill of Gustave Whitely in the amount ot ?2o.uu ror toreman of a NYA project two weeks during July, was disapproved. . Bids were opened at their meeting of September 10, for bridge construc tion and on mass concrete, and con crete culverts, pursuant to published call for bids. Four firms submitted bids. Monarch Engineering Co., of Falls City, Nebraska; Midland Con struction . Co., Omaha; II. i'. lUsv pile to Co. Surveyor-. Fipo'& Construction Co., Nebraska City, and Inland Construction Co., Omaha. , The bids were checked and it was determined that the Monarch Engi neering Co.. of Falls City had the low bid on bridges and H. A. Risk oa mass concrete and concrete cul verts. Two days later on September 21, the Board again took up the matter of bids and after due consideration, it. was moved by Commissioner H. C. Backemeycr, seconded by Commis sioner U. E.
