It was gradually drawn tighter nnd
tighter until the gopher fell over dead,
tho life having been completely squeez

tho snake swallows him whole, nnd It
is not an unusual thing to find one of
these snakes with a number of gophers
In him. The gopher Is a great lighter,

It may bo doubted If It Is within tho

ould perform the simple nnd appar
