Our great effort is to encourage them to save money. Send them to xis and we will do our utmost to get them started right. - : - - : - - : - FALLS CITY STATE BANK THE FALLS CITY TRIBUNE Entered as second-class matter nt Falls City , Nebraska , post office , Janu ary 12. l'J04 , under the Act of Congress ' of'March 3 , 1879. Alf is one of the staunch old democrats of Dawson and though an old man is still hale and hearty. It ft t f If the people of McCray's dis trict could just talk a few minutes with the members of the board and learn just how much money has been wasted and squandered by the resourceful William , he would hardly get a vote at the ensuing election. The trouble with McCray is that he is governed by prejudice and vanity. He has spent hundreds of dollars of the county's money in trying to get even with an enemy. He is equally generous in trying to reward a friend. This statement is not campaign fancies , it is the absolute truth and is susceptible of verification. His vanity is such that he is about the limit. He has said repeatedly in Falls City that lie did not want the office but that his party had no other man so competent at he and the voters just forced the office upon him. If this statement is true the democratic party is hard up for material indeed. Frank Simon , from Rule visit ed in Falls City Monday. Mrs. Hosford of Rule spent Monday in this city. SAMUEL WAHL DAYLIGHT STORE Trouble Brewing. There seems to be trouble brew ing between certain elements of the republican part ) ' . If one can read anything between the lines lie sees indications of a factional line up among our representatives In Washington. Governor Shel- ; lon and Senator Brown are very warm friends and have been to gether in all the lights ot the paat two or three years. When the struggle was on in Lincoln for the Lancaster county delega tion Hrown and Sheldon were lighting it out with the same gang that Burkett had beat when he was a candidate. Bur- kett however , was out of the state during the whole of this struggle and either failed or re fused to take sides in the matter. This , of course , was the sub ject of comment among the various contestants , and the statement was several times made in the hearing of the writer that the time would come when Uurkett would have a fight and would want friends. The other day Burkett wanted to be a delegate to the state con vention from Lancaster conntv , so the newspapers say. He fail ed by a large majority. The friends of Hrown and Sheldon were in control and there is a suspicion abroad that somebody was getting even. Senator Burkett denies that he was a candidate for delegate , and there you are. If we were in any wise related to a phophet we would probably predict that George Sheldon will be a candidate for the United States Senator to succeed Burkett and that Brown will be with him in the fight. Should this prove to be the case somebody is going to sec a horse race , for both of them are strong and clean and popular. In the mean time hold your breath and watch developements. Frank Boose went to Peru last week where he will attend Nor mal the ensuing year.
