tended the Old Settlers picnic between -
tween Dawson and Humboldt

interest of the college which .by
the way is one of the best busi-
ness colleges in the state , and
now that it has moved into its
new home in the Wahl building
it also has as nice a home
as any of th m. The president ,
Mr. Smith is a thorough instructor -
or and anyone expecting to go to
college will find it to their advantage -
vantage to attend this school , as
the rates are much lower than.
other colleges ask for the same
courses : of study. . .

At the house of Joseph Cull ] ,
corner of Ninth and Lane streets ,
Sunday afternoon at three o'dock
JvIiss'1\'I rtha W. Culp was united
by the tics of matrimony to Mr.
Charles Dockhom.
Miss Culp is one of the charm-
ing daughters of 1\-Ir. and Mrs.
Joseph Culp and a young lady
well known to the people of this
town ; Mr. Dockhorn is one of the
promising young business men of
Oslmloosa , Iowa , and we speak
for them the hopes of a long and
prosperous voyage on the sea up
on which they have launched
their crafts.
The wedding was a simple
home wedding , only the immcdi-
ate relatives being present.
The young couple left Monday
morning for Oskaloosa , where
Mr. Dockhorn is in the jewelry
business , which place will be
their home.
They carry with them the best
wishes of a host of relatives and
friends.
_ The ceremony was preformed
by Rev. Pougeon , pastor of the
' " "
"Christian church.
Died.
Morris Dale Lemmon , infant
son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl .
. -
dIed August 29th. of - cholera
infantum , age two years , one
month and fourteen days. The
funeral . rvices were held , at the
home . ' 1 ' uesday , August 30th and
were conducted by Hev. Elmer
Ward Cole.
, . There is nothing in all of God's
great world so- beautiful as a
little child. There is nothing
more sad than to see a little face
grow strange with death.
Little Morris was a promising
boy. Great hopes , were in him.
His father and mother had day
dreams of his future such as
fathers and mothers have had
from the begining. But in the
"beautiful island of somewhcre"
there was need of him and God's
finger touched him and he slept ,

\Ve have no words of sufficient
potency to reach the bereaved ones :
Time vast crowd of friends that
congregated at the home on
Tuesday was silent. But in
I their grief the parents and brothers -
ers and sisters of the little boy
who was arc not entirely alonc.
. This community sympathizes
with them and adds its tears to
theirs at the seperation beleiviiig
that sonic day we shall under-
- stand. .
Harnack's B nd.
Tic people who attended the
Fraternal Picnic could not help
being impressed by time music of
the Military , Band , under the
direction of Prof. Harnack : :
. Professor and his men was a
success , and deserved the highest
possible display'of appreciation
Prof. Harnack is a man untiring -
ing in his efforts to make everything -
thing he undertakes a success ,
and there is i ! ; no reason in the
world why he should not be a
success. He is very affable and
to sum him up in. a nutshell we
have butte say that he is a royal ,
chivalrous fellow.
Let , the people and business
men especially , of Falls City ,
rally around , the band boys and
their , director , tender them every
manner of support possible and
se ( what a wonderful success the
halls City Military Band , under
the directorship of Prof. Harnack
will be.
No aggregation in Falls City
is as deserving of support , praise
and hearty good will , as the
banel.
