United States Senator Clark of
Montana has bectl educating "his ,
wa I'd" for several years. It now
appears that they have a child
two years old. Senator Clark
claims they have been married
three years but kept it a secret
because 1\lrs. Clark did not want
to go in society , which she would
have been compelled to do had it
been known that she was the
wife of the sena tor , She has become -
come reconciled however , and i s
now trying to break into the
upper crust. If we had as much
money as Clark we would hire
some man to invent a better cx- .
anise than that.

A perusal of the Hiawatha
World ought : to inspire every
country editor. Of course all
men in this business have neither
thc literary nor the executive
ability of Ewing Herbert who
edits this paper , and very few
editors receive the cl1cour.rement :
from local 1 advertisers ' that is
given to him. But grit and
courage are a formidablc com-
bination , and combincd with thc
other essentials so largely possessed -
ed by 1\11' ' Herbert' will accom-
plish great results as is evidenced
by the \V orld.
Nearly every newspaper man
says that his paper is the pest.
This is the easiest - in
casiestthing thc
newspaper busincss-to say. We
arc trying to make the Tribune
the best in this ; locality , and
think that in a measure we arc
succeeding What you think
about it however , is of greeter
interest to us. If you think
enough of us to become a SU'-
scriber we will wclcome you very
gIadly.Ve think we can he of
mutual advantage to each other ;
wc would like to 10 our part.
Will you give us the chance ?
