V 1 J U I i W I THIRTIETH YEAR Continued Until Tonight The city council held sessions Friday and Saturday ovenings to hear the remonstrances filed against the issuance of liquor li censes1 in this city The hearing so -far has covered the cases of five of the applicants This even ing the council will acrain meet in adjourned session to complete the hearing and will then no doubt render a decision in the matter As the voters at the last city dee tion decided in no uncertain tone that they favored the issuance of saloon licenses and as the hear ing has not disclosed anything more detrimental has not brought to light conditions dif ferent than those usually exist ing in cities and towns where sa loons operate it is not difficult or dangerous to prophesy that applications will be granted As to the motif and personnel of the remonstrators it is only char itahle to use the amplest folds of a broad mantle of charily and let the matter go at that Meeting of Fire Dept There will
