passed over the Alliance division last week enroute for Sheridan where she will be used in passenger service Alliance Times Mr and Mrs B J Lane attended the big doings in Brush Colorado on Saturday last Sunday morning they went on to Denver to visit Mrs Lane folks returning home Monday morn ing Engine 2844 formerly assigned to the Alliance division and now in Havelock shops will be sent to the McCook division for service when she is turned out of the shops Alliance Times Conductor E O Scottt went down to Lincoln last Thursday night wit nessing the opening game between Lincoln and Denver Friday and visit ing his mother in the capital city briefly while away Bert Darnell of Marion Neb ar rived Monday to visit his parents V M Darnell and wife his fathers illness calling him home Another son Warren who has been here for sever al weeks returned to McCook Tues day Minden News The railroad boys held a mass mec ing last evening and got well under way for their 1911 picnic which will be held on June 20th this year The finance and location committees have been appointed and will report soon Cambridge seems to be strong with the boys in the matter of location It is rumored in railroad circles that a change may be made in the passenger runs out of Curtis An ef fort is being made to make a run from Curtis to Sterling ana trom Cuitis to Hastings the Highline train to do the local dead bodies may be shipped ov er that road as excess baggage after May 1 Heretofore the bodies have been shipped as passengers and the new ruling will make a material re duction in the cost of
