Our theatres goers are fortunate in
having an opportunity of seeing one
of the most talked about plays of
the present day Under Southern
Skies which will be seen here for
the first time on Monday October 31
at the Temple theatre is from all
that can be learned about it one of
the treats of the season and should
not be missed by anyone who enjoys
a first class play presented in a first
class manner Although Under Sou
thern Skies is new to our city it
is not an untried quantity This is
the sixth season for this delightful
picture of southern life but so great
has been the demand for it in the
east that the past five seasons have
been devoted entirely to that terri
tory many of the eastern cities be
lng visited four or five times Large
and fashionable audiences have been
the rule for this successful play and
no doubt this city will show an equal
interest in this splendid attraction
Special scenery representing the old
fashioned stately homes of the sou
thern aristocracy and the beautiful
flower bedecked landscapes of the
south are carried by the company
and twenty three people are required
for the speaking parts thus making
this attraction one of the largest and
most expensive of traveling dramatic
organizations The plot of Uuder
Southern Skies is a very interest
ing one and it is told by the author
with so many amusing and entertain
ing touches that the play never flags
or loses its interest A Halloween
party with a pumpkin dance is some
thing new to the stage and is one
of the great attractions of the play
The costuming is very pretty and at
tractive following the fashions of the
period and many beautiful gowns are
worn As there are eleven ladies in
the cast there Is a variety of fem
inine finery that is very pleasing
especially to the ladies in the audi
ence Under Southern Skies is a
play of such marked success and pos
sesses so much refined entertainment
ana beauty that none of our theatre
goers can afford to miss it
A weekly newspaper that publishes
twenty one columns of good reliable
news each week Is rare In these days
