The opening yesterday afternoon
drew a fair crowd An address by
our next governor Hon C H Al-
drich of David City was a feature
And the races were quite satisfactory
Today the attendance is much in
creased and the entries promise ev
en better races than yesterday

Tabernacle Meeting in McCook
Rev J 15 Payne and tin band of
workers who have been conducting the
camp meeting at Spring Creek under
the auspices of the M K church are to
begin a tent meeting in McCook Thurs
day S pember 1st This will be the
last of a series of meetings conducted
by these people during the summer in
Red Willow Dawson and Frontier cos
In addition to Mr Payne and wife the
party includes Miss Mario Wilson of
Denver Miss Maude Wilkinson of Kan
sas and Mr Howard Howetterof Colo
rado Springs Colo Gospel workers and
singers Meetings will be conducted
nightly along old fashioned lines There
will be a nigutly oen air service at the
corner of Main avenue and 1 street

15 and 1st street east
