The Omnibus Public Buildings and
Grounds Bill Introduced in Con
gress Carries That Amount for
McCooks Public Building
From a Staff Correspondent
WASHINGTON D C June 19
Special Telegram After weeks of
consideration given to the demands
of congressmen for sites for public
buildings in their districts Chairman
Bartholdt of the public buildings and
grounds committee of the house re
ported Saturday the omnibus public
buildings and ground bill Avhich will
fca takenup Monday for consideration
carrying an appropriation of 19288
500 with 3095000 for continuing con
tracts Chairman Bartholdt has had
numerous conferences with the presi
dent and cabinet as to the need of
the departments of government for in
creased housing
What to do with Norris of the fifth
Nebraska district was a question
Which met the chairman early in the
preliminary consideration of the bill
for Judge Norris had been a former
aiiember of the committee and a most
efficient member He got off the
reservation and the question arises
Sn the minds of some people whether
he would have a look in on McCook
But the bill as reported today shows
that Norris had his wires out and
having secured a site for the public
tmilding in a former congress there
was nothing left but to give him 95
000 for a building for the postoffice
and courts having to be accommodat

A Credit to McCook
The rates which are being charged to
Junior Normal students are very satis
factory and a credit to our little city
There have been some false rumors to
the effect that the McCook people wore
charging exorbitant rates to Junior Nor
mal students If this were true the Ju
nior Normal at McCook would not hi3t
long for the reason that the pupils
would go on by to Peru or Kearney
yhero cheaper accommodations could
be obtained
When the report of above facts came
to Principal Taylor he immediately took
steps to find out precisely the true con
dition of boarding and rooming rates
Last Friday morning a blank slip of pa
per asking for the foil wing information
was passed out to every student present
at the monrng convocation exercises
These were the points asked for Your
name with whom do you room and
