Engine 1749 was over the drop pit
this week She has also been given a
diamond stack in place of a straight

The new gasoline enerine for moving
the turntable is here The cab will be
ready in a day or two and the engine in
stalled for service
The rope on the equalizing apparatus
of the coal hoisting plant broke Wednes
day putting the engiue out of commiss
ion during the day
Engine 1026 and 301 arc out of the
backshop after overhauling The 1026
was put through the breaking in pro
cess yesterday in the local yard
Extra Agent and Mrs Frank Wallace
mourn the death of their second infant
child about seven months old which
passed away with cholera infantum

The Chicago Burlington Quincy
railway has issued orders to electric light
and telephone companies which carry
wires over the track of that road to ca
ble them and place them under the
tracks All companies have been given
until April 15 to make the shift
Thomas Mclnroy a Burlington en
gineer before the great 1888 strike was
in the citv Tuesday on his way to Or
leans to see some members of his family
there lie retired from railroading a
bout two years since on account of fail
ing eyesight He makes his home now
in Denver
