RAILROAD NEWS ITEMS
Engine 2709 is receiving a set of new
flues
The roundhouse is gradually being
re roofed
Engine 6M6 is undergoing repair in the
roundhouse
Engines 1539 and 148 went into shop
this week for an overhauling
Sugar beet shipments are now adding
much to the local outgoing tonnage
The 1910 is about ready for her whees
and will go out of the shop next week
The company is storing coal in the
local yard on the ground in large quan
tities
The steam fitters are finishing the pip
ing in the roundhouse for heating pur
poses
A large new bolt lathe has been de
livered in the backshop and will shortly
be installed
Dr and Mrs C L Fahenstock ar
rived home early in the week from
their trip east
George Paxton machinist who has
been east on a visit returned to work
Thursday morning
Engine 2997 which recently got a
solar plexus in the Denver yard is in
the roundhouse for front end repairs

tember 1st has been promulgated by the
company It effects machinists black
smiths and boilermakers whose pay is
increased from 34 to 36 cents an hour
on the McCook division except in Den
ver where the pay is 35 cents For over
time Sunday and legal holidays time
and a half is paid On the road one dol
lar a day is allowed for expenses
