two by the serious illness of his baby
Rev M B Carman was called over to
Stockville Tuesday morning to con
duct the services over the remains of
Mrs John L Sanders who died on
Monday of this week and was buried on
Tuesday afternoon
Mr and Mrs Will Dolan came up
from Indianola Sunday on a visit to
her parents Mr and Mrs I M Beards
lee He returned home Monday morn
ing but Mrs Beardslee remained over
during the early days of this week
Frank Lackey of the Stmtton paper
recently deceased was in the city last
Friday - They were not disposed to
give a local newspaper the necessary1
support and -Frank will likely direct his
energies in other and more profitable
directions
Messrs J H and I D Moore and
heir families wore on passenger t ain
No 41 which was ditched on the Lincoln-Billings
line last week but wrile
friends here that they were all uninjured
notwithstanding most of the train went
into the ditch
Judge R C Oku is ill I this week and
confined to his room at the Commercial
hotel A gentleman from Harvard is
holding court for him up in Imperial
this week he and Court Reporter Cor
deal going up thorp on Monda morn
ings train from here They expect to
be abspnt all week if not longer having
a full docket to dispose of
Mr and Mrs Arthur Wood arrived
Monday evening on No 14 from Liv
ingston Montana and will occupy the

on the ranch as soon as possible Ar
thur has resigned his position as store
keeper at Livingston and will follow
farming and stock raising
J S LeHew is in receipt of a postal
card illustrating the cemetery and
battlefield at Pittsburg Landing or Shi
loh sent him by his daughter Lora who
was with a -party of Wisconsin people
who recently dedicated a monument to
Wisconsin s dead in that famous ceme
tery The judge was in that battle
The orator of the unveiling was Judge
Fawcett of Omaha

Springs whither they went some time
since for Mrs Walshs health

Louis Suess and formerly in merchan
dising in Herndon Kansas is new em
ployed in C L DeGroff Cos store
Family will be here as soon as a house
can be secured Mr Schwab was one
of the unfortunate ones in Herndons
recent big fire

church in the use of the pretty and im
pressive ring ceremony The station
was decorated in pink and white

with white satin ribbon and as the
bridal party approached from an upper
chamber Helen Knipple bestrewed
their pathway with orange blossoms
and roses sent from California by Miss
Helen Lawson and Mrs W B Mills at
the piano gave Mendelssohns wedding
march to a violin accompaniment by

The brides dress was a lovly crea
tion en train of white net over white
duchess satin Bride carried a large
bouquet of white roses Miss Myra
Connor of Lincoln was bridesmaid She
was gowned in a handsome rose colored
silk Mrs Charles R Knowles of Cul
bertson the matron of honor wore a
splendid white satin gown The groom
Was attended by Dr E O Vahue as
best man and Mr Charles R Knowles

A dinner was served in three courses
the bridal party occupying the dining
room while the guests were served at
small tables in the parlors
The home was tastefully and charm
ingly decorated white and pink carna
tions and white roses smilax ferns

the effects The parlor was in white
library in pink and white dining room

- A fire in a manure pile in the alley in
rear of the Kapke restaurant Monday
afternoon early caused an alarm and a
run for the department It was not
necessary to throw water however as
the blaze was inconsequential
