Denver goat is nearly ready to go out Arthur Davis who formerly was em ployed as a machinist here but has been employed at Pittsburg Kansas is again j in the service here in the backshop In anticipation of a coal strike the company is making every arrangement to be in position to make a lightning change on her engines to enable them to burn lignite coal The shaper machine is being mov ed to the east end of the backshop this week Some new and additional ma chines are expected soon The back shop has been greatly improved by re cent changes in locations of machines etc A young man by the name of Brieh a student at the Fort Morgan Colorado station of the Burlington was instantly killed on Wednesday night by passenger train No 6 which struck him as he at tempted to cross the track before the ap proaching train The body was badly broken Will Examine Engine Men Notices have been posted by the op perating department of the Burlington railroad in all division offices that all employes in the train and locomotive service be examined in the near future on hearing and eyesight This is the first such order to be issued in several years Employes are always examined on their ears and eyes when entering the service but it has not been customary for them to be tested in that regard at other times Minor defects of auricular or visionary powers will not disqualify men who have been long in the service of the road but neverthless the examination is expected to be a rigid one The employes will undergo it at division headquarters where they have their respective stop Providence has removed from our midst our worthy biother J C Ferguson long recognized by us as an earnest and able worker in our noble cause and Whereas We realize that by the demise of Brother Furguson this lodge has lost ouo of its most valuable mem bers the brotherhood an ardent friend and his family mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate husband and father therefore be it Resolved That we hereby extend to the family of our deceased brother our most heartfelt sympathy in this sad hour of bereavement and commend them to the care of our Heavenly Father that He may guide and
