Very Much Alive
Last evening two men contributed to
the pleasure of a large audience at the
Valentino One has been doad 289 years
The other is very much alive to his call
ing Montaville Flowers is the latter
mentioned man and his particular call
ing last evening was the rendition of
Shakespeares Merchant of Venice
While there is something remarkable
that words penned noarly three centuries
ago can hold a great audience spellbound
even though the story they tell is in
substance almost known by heart
while there is somothing remarkable in
that it is even more remarkable that a
man in dull evening clothes without
scenery music or the assistance of even
one poor trembling super can hold his
hearers for two hours while he runs
through every part from tbe character
bits to Shylock Mr Flowers did this
and did it admirably Tho people leav
ing the theater voiced their pleasure on
all sides and were quite as well satisfied
as when a few evenings ago Shakespeare
was exploited with tons of scenery and
hundreds of stage folk Ho was un
usually strong in the speeches of Shylock
and many remarked that they were very
much reminded of Henry Irvings rendi
tion In the comedy parts the enter
tainer w a s admirable The Toledo
Times

Look After The Lads
Complaints have been filed that young
boys of the town are guilty of stealing
numerous small articles left out of doors
about business places Small articles
of all kinds are taken and though the
value of each is small the aggregate

considerable
