Every man thinks he knows how to
run a farm just as most mm believe
they could edit a better newspaper than
those who are in the business In both
cases the man who really knows most
feels most modest about it Book farm
ers have long been tho butt of universal
ridicule and book farmers often get
control of agricultural papers and make
a sad mess of it as leaders of the hard
headed common sense farmers who have
learned how to do things by doing them
Fortunately for Red Willow county the
farm paper most generally read here is
The Iowa Homestead which is edited by
practical farmers who live on and oper
ate their own farms besides being ex
perts in the science and theory of agri
culture The Tribune takes pleasure
in recommending this excellent farm
journal as the best exponent of practi
cal and scientific agriculture horticul
ture stock raising dairy farming and
tho allied industries of the farm We
take subscriptions at this office and be
lieve in so doing we are best promoting
the interests of Red Willow county
