Wednesday night at tho C O Hale farm a fow miles northwest of this city But little or nothing is known of tho sad affair Frank had been in town Wednesday and toward evening went homo together with Ed Droll J H Whittakor John ileinlein and son Early in theovening Droll and Whittakor went over to lleiuleiris leaving Cashen alono at home as ho wished About ten oclock in tho evening Droll and Whittaker ro turned to tho Hale farm where Cashen and Droll aro batching and retired Whittaker going to bed with Cashen who had already retired and Droll sleep ing on a couch at the foot of tho bed all in tho same room No light was used iu tho room a lamp being kept on the table in another room which threw a little light into tho bfd room and over the foot of the bed Whittaker savs ho heard Cashen breathing heavily when he went tombed In the morning after breakfast had been prepared Droll went into the bed room to arouse Cashen who failed to respond to the calls from the other room Cashen was found to be cold in death He evidently shot him self while the others were at the jeni lann lie never nioveo arcer cue shooting the revolver fell down between his arm and body in the bed In tho darkness nothing uncommon was ed by the others who thought he was sleeping heavily he having been drink ing somewbaUduriug the day His bed fellow states that he was careful in get ting into tho bed to not disturb him Dr A C Harlan went to the scene Thursday afternoon and the verdict was in keeping with the very evident fact that he had committed suicide by shoot ing himself as above stated It is suited that tho deceased had threatened to commit such a deed and on one or more occasions had to be re strained from tho act He had been subject to attacks of melancholy since tho death of his
