Farmers are rejoicing over fine rains
this week which will put their fall
grain in such nice condition About
two inches of rain fell Monday and
Tuesday and has wet the ground in fine
shape
Mr Buthrus was seriously injured
last week by stepping on a nail which
penetrated his foot over an inch He is
now able to walk with a cane and lay
aside crutches aside His wife who has
been so dangerously sick is now able to
sit up

and Charles Thrailkill settled their dif
ficulty by arbitration each one paying

James McClung received a ticket to

visit him Mr McClung left first of the
week for Oklahoma
Leonard Shippee has returned from
the fair and is making some improve
ments on his farm north of town occu
pied by A Ryden Mr Shippee has
purchased the 160 acres just north of
this farm
Dr G A Remington left on Thursday
for the worlds fair Thence ho will go
on to Chicago to finish his fourth and
last year in medical college He expects
to be back to Lebanon and Wilsonville
about May 30th
John McClung is to marry Maggie
Crocker in McCook this week The
marriage has been postponed from time
to time by the illness of Miss Crocker
Miss Crockers home is seven miles north
of Indianola They will live in Lebanon
The Lebanon boys are playing a series
of six games this week commencing at
McCook Monday Indianola Tuesday
and Wednesdaj Lebanon Thursday
Friday and Saturday These games
will doubtless close the season for the
Old Settlers The Lebanon girls are
getting in practice for their game on
October 29th
Fred Fitz who sold the improvements
on his farm south of Bartley in 1901 for
1400 and threw in the farm has bought
again this time an unimproved farm as
near as possible to old one and will
build up again We notice that the
farmer usually takes his vacation this
way Mr Fitz has been living in Wash
inton and Idaho since leaving here
