Joe Brown a Tennessee negro June
10th was knocked from the railroad
track between Holdrege and Funk
rendered unconscious for 36 hours and
had one leg badly injured He has since
been recuperating at Holdrege under
the sheriffs care It is thought he

shops was burned early Tuesday morn
ing causing a loss in building and ma
chinery to the company of about 50
000 Loss covered by insurance It is
stated that the shop will be rebuilt at
once The brick walls remain intact
Much machinery was but slightly dam
