First Nationals Burglar Alarm System
This week Frank Q Miller installing
expert of Minneapolis Minn has been
installing the American Bank Protection
Cos burglar alarm system in the vault
of the First National Bank of our city
The work is about complete as we go to
press this afternoon
This system is perhaps the latest and
most perfect and affords absoluto pro
tection to the bank from loss by burg
lary By a complete system of linings
automatic electric alarms time alarms
etc it is impossible to gain entrance in
to the vault in any manner without the
whole community being alarmed by pow
erful gongs sounding on the outside of
the building There are gongs inside
the vault as well These alarms sound
automatically and continue their infer
nal din until stopped being driven by
strong batteries Every feature of the
system is thought to be perfectly pro
tected in its workings
When you hear the alarm you will rec
ognize it
The News From Away From Home
It is reported that after the trip of
Vice president Willard over the Bur
lington lines west of the river last week
sixty men were let out of the round
house and machine shops at McCook
and that Mr Willard ordered that a lot
of the work heretofore done at McCook
shops be sent to Havelock shops There
is much speculation as to whether or not
under Mr Willards management this
policy will be carried further than the
McCook shops and that much of the
work now done at the different division
shops will be sent to Havelock Alli
