On Tuesday afternoon C L Fenn
was threshing for Patrick Coyle Mr
Fenn had a young man Henry Overvee
of Hayes county tend the engine while
he got down and stood at the end of the
engine but a few minutes when it ex
ploded throwing Mr Overvee about 30
feet and scalding his legs so badly there
are blisters large as a mans hand which
will lay him up for some time A wagon
loaded with sheaves and the separator
were burned It seems a miracle that
several were not killed

A resolution ordering tho replacing and con
struction and building of a sidewalks along tho
south side of block 12 in the original town of
McCook nnd along the south side of block 19
in the first addition to the City of McCook
Whereas it having been made apparent to
the Mayor and citv council of the City of Mc
Cook that it is necessary that the sidewalks
hereinafter described and located shall be re
placed and that new sidewalks should be built
and constructed at such locations and
Whereas the owners of lots along which said
walks are located having failed and neglected
to replace or to build and construct new side
walks at such locations Therefore bo it

1 That the sidewalks as hereinafter located
nnd described be nnd thev nre hereby ordered
replaced and the new sidewalks be built and
constructed of either brick stone or concrete
in the manner as specified by the provisions of
