Bartley were in town Wednesday on business A goodly number went down to Camb ridge this week to attend tho reunion Miss Mamie Mann visited the latter part of last week with her sister in Bartley Mike Morris of Illinois arrived here on No 5 Tuesday evening for a visit with friends Miss Nettie Endsley of McCook visited here the first of tho week with Miss Nettie McCool Mr and Mrs Bob Gotschall have moved into town and now occupy the Briggle property Next week is Fair week Fair com mences 8th and continues until tho 11th Everybody come Mrs John Duning who has been visiting for the past week in Oxford re turned home Tuesday evening Earl and Vena Bodwell of Lebanon visited a few days this week with Mrs Newt Smith and Mrs Charlie Russell Mr Calkins is able to be out again and frequently takes a stroll down town His many friends aro glad of his im provement Mr and Mrs Wm Downs and little boy of Edgar stopped off between trains Sunday and visited with Mr and Mrs J Kern A trio of youthful burglars entered John McClungsstoreMonday forenoon while he was at the reunion and helped themselves to money candy etc Lucy and Jennie Wisdom returned to their home in Hastings Tuesday morn ing after a few weeks visit with rela tives They were accompanied by their cousin Miss Sadie McNiel who will visit a few weeks before returning home Some person or persons unknown tried to break into the jail here Monday night The lock was partly blown off Rev Owens heard the noise and located it in the direction of the jail He went at once and notified Art Crabtree who hurried to the jail but the attend school J F Miller an old resident of this community but now of Friend is ex pected this week to visit relatives Misses Florence Younger and Maude Stone made a business visit to Stock ville Sam Bbntloy camo in from Edgar Friday and are visiting in this vicinity and looking after busi ness matters Bert Stevens purchased the best set of harness in Redwillow county last week and was so elated with it that he re mained up all night to admire it Tho ball game at Stockville resulted in favor of Stockville tho score being 9 to 4 Some of the Bartley team could not atteud the game and a change of po sition of the players lost tho game The Flint children have been home visiting their mother for about two weeks Cam Flint returned to Omaha Sunday and Miss Irene departed for Lincoln the same day her youngest sis ter Grace accompanying her for a short visit in the capitol city A beautiful wedding occurred at the Willow Wednesday when one of our best young men Mr Perry Ginther was united in marriage to Miss Nellie Cana gaat the home of the bridos parents Pastor Martin of Indianola officiating These young people are worthy of all the good things we can wish them Perry Premer foreman of the B M carpenter crew and Galen McKean one of his men came in from Lyons Colo rado Saturday morning Mr McKean will remain here a while and recruit his health which has not been good since
