The Following Proposed Amendment to
the Constitution of the Slate of Ne
braska as Hereinafter Set Forth In
Full is Submitted to the fclectors of
the State of Nebraska to be Voted
Upon at the General Election to be
Held Tuesday November 4 1902
A Joint Resolution proposing to amend Sec
tion one of Article fifteen of the Constitution
of the Stnte of Nebraska relative to the manner
of submitting mid adopting nmcndini rts to tho
constitution of the snid stnte of Nebrnskn
Be it resolved nml enacted by tho Lt gislaturo
of the Stnte of Nebraska
Section 1 That Section ono of Article fifteen
of the Constitution of the Statu of Nebruska bo
amended to read as follows
Section 1 Either branch of the legislature
may propose amendments to this constitution
and if the same be agreed to by three iif ths of
tho members elected to each house such pro
posed amendments shall be entered on tho
Journals with the yeas and nays and published
at least onco each week in at least one news
paper in each county where a newspaper is
published for thirty days immediately preced
ing the next election of senators and representa
tives at which election the same shall bo sub
mitted to the electors for approval or rejection
and if a majority of the electors voting at such
election on such proxiscii amendment shall
vote to adopt such amendment the same shall
become a part of this constitution When more
than one amendment is submitted at tho same
election they shall be so submitted as to enable
tho electors to vote on each amendment sepa
rately
All ballots used at such election on such
amendment or amendments shall have written
or printed thereon the following For proposed
amendment to the constitution relating to hero
insert the subject of tho amendment and
against proposed amendment to the Constitu
tion relating to here ini ert the subject of tho
amendment and the voteof each elector voting
on such amendment or amendments shall bo
designated by the elector by making a crow
with a pen or jKjncil in a circle or square to bo
placed at the right of the lines the words For
or Against the propos ed amendments as ho
shall desire to vote thereon or by indicating his
preference on a voting machine when such
machine is- in use
