Cases Out of Ten A notice , until , in many cases , the deadly-
disease is fully developed.
Cure Found at Last. Cancer can not be cured by a surgical
operation , because the disease is a virulent
poison in the blood , circulating throughout the system , and although
the sore or ulcer known as the Cancer may be cut away , the
poison remains in the blood , and promptly breaks out afresh , "with
renewed violence.
The wonderful success of S. S. S. in curing obstinate , deep-neated
blood diseases which were considered incurable , induced a few de
spairing sufferers to try it for Cancer , after exhausting the skill of
the physicians without a cure. Much to their delight S. S. S. proved
equal to the disease and promptlv effected a cure. The glad news
spread rapidly , and it was soon demonstrated
beyond doubt that a cure had at last been
found for deadly Cancer. Evidence has accu
mulated which is incontrovertible , of which
the following is a specimen :
"Cancer is hereditary in our family , my father , a
sister and an aunt having died from this dreadful
disease. My feelings may be imagined when the horrible
rible disease made its appearance on my side. It was
a malignant Cancer , eating inwardly in such a way as
to cause great alarm. The disease seemed beyond the
skill of the doctors , for their treatment did no good
f.Tio ( ! iiTir _ Ar trrnwincr ttrnrcii Jill trifvhilf
Numerous remedies were used for it. but the Cancer MRS. s. M. IDOL.
grew steadily worse , until it seemed that I was doomed
to follow the others of the family , for I know how deadly Cancer is , especially
when inherited. I was advised to try Swift's Specific ( S. S. S. ) , which , from the
first day , forced out the poison. I continued its use until I had taken eighteen
bottles , when I was cured sound and well , and have had no symptoms of the
dreadful affliction , though many years have elapsed. S. S. S. is the only cure
for Cancer. MBS. S. M. IDOL , "Winston , N. C.

information , will be sent free to any address by the Swift Specific
Company , Atlanta , Georgia.

As one result of American occupancy ol
Manila , the liquor business has reached enter
prising proportions , and is now considered
one of the leading as well as one of the
respectable kinds of business. Says one cor
respondent : "On the Escolta , the principal
business street , only a quarter of a mile long ;
there were but two places where intoxicating
liquors were sold when we entered the city ,
whereas now there are eighteen. There are
300 licenced places in the city where liquors
may be obtained , licenses costing $3 per year.
The income of the largest , the Alhambra , is
stated , on good authority , to be 700 per night.
Already the street cars are topped with large
signs detailing the exquisite qualities of cer
tain whiskies. One-quarter of the daily issue
of the principal English newspaper is devoted
to extolling the perfection of a brand of beer ,
while the largest drug store in town devotes a
column to advertising its line line of liquors ,
with no mention of its medicines.1
Did you ever try to dodge the
rain-drops ? Did not succeed
very well , did you ? It's just
as useless to try to escape from
the germs of consumption. You
can't do it. They are about us
on every hand and we are con
stantly taking them into our
lungs.
Then why don't TVC all have
this disease ? Simply because
these germs cannot gain a foot
hold in a strong throat and
lungs. It's when these are
weak that the germs master.
The body must be well supplied
with fat. The danger comes
when the blood is poor and the
body is thin. If your cough does
not yield , and your throat and
lungs feel raw and sore , you :
should not delay another day.
Take Scott's
Emulsion
of Cod-Liver Oil with Hypophos-

inflamed membranes and greatly
strengthen them as well. The :
digestion becomes stronger , the :
appetite better and the weight
increases. The whole body be
comes well fortified and the
germs of consumption cannot
gain a foothold.
It's this nourishing , sustain
ing and strengthening power
of SCOTT'S EMULSION that
has made it of such value in
:
all wasting and exhausting
diseases.
