The grasshopper pest has packed
its baggage and left the country.
There are very few left and we are
not particular how soon they go.
We hear many complaining
that their corn is burned and some
who go so far as to declare that
rain could not help their crops.
While this may be true of some
fields an investigation would show
that those fields had been so thick
ly planted that they could not have
matured a crop without an abun
dance of rain. There are few
fields to our knowledge which show
the drouth even through the heat
of the day on which would not ma

drop 'of rain. Plant your corn
thin and taking one year with
another you will have no cause to
regret it.

COLEMAN.
Thomas Real has bought a
thresher.
An inch and a half rain , Thurs
day morning.
Threshers are seen and heard in
all directions.
Walter Hickling spent a day
up here , recently.
J. W. Corner had eight acres of
hog millet down when the rain
came.
H. B. and Bert Wales and Ellis
Divine have bought a thresher and
are rolling the grain out.
Since Bob Nussbaum moved
here last spring he has captured
thirteen young coyotes.
Robert Traphagen had his fin
ger cut pretty badly by a band
cutter while feeding a thresher.
Matt Droll has got his wheat
nearly two-thirds threshed. He has
threshed out over 4,000 bushels.
Robert Traphagen is going with
Thomas Real's thresher , with a
team. One day last week one of
his horses took sick and died.
Uncle Billy says there is one
thing connected with threshiug
that he is willing to do his full
share at and that is , feeding him
self.
Uncle Billy has a patch of alfal
fa and has cut two crops of hay
this year. He has all his millet
in stock already and nearly ready
for winter.
Wm. Golman has received
orders from an Iowa man , who is
now in Oregon , to buy him a farm
here and he will move to it this
fall. Now , who has a cheap farm
to sell ?
An Iowa man was looking over
the country he're last spring. He
has just written Wm. Coleman ,
"Get a deed for that quarter we
looked at first. I will move this
fall or winter" .
Dallas Divine , a young man of
this town. , sowed fifty-four acres
of fall wheat , and last week
threshed it and it yielded 1488
bushels and will weigh out close
to 1600 bushels. >
Uncle Billy may be getting to
be a pretty hard nut , as the ele
ments are after him. His wire
fence has been struck three times
by lightning , twice by grasshop
pers and once by Bob Nussbanm's
pony. He is of the opinion that
the last stroke was entirely unnec
essary.
Mrs. P. W. Hutchinson lives in
the northeastern portion of South
Dakota. She drove all the way
down here "with a pony and open
buggy , to see the country here.
She was so well pleased with it
that the family will be here before
winter. She spent six days at the
home of Wm Coleman. The
round trip will make a drive of
over 1000 miles. She is making
the entire trip alone.

HOW TO FIND OUT.
Fill a bottle or common glass with urine and
let it stand twenty-four hours ; a sediment or
settling indicates an unhealthy condition of the
kidneys. When urine stains linen it is posi
tive evidence of kidney trouble. Too frequent
desire to urinate or pain in the back is also
convincing proof that the kidneys and bladder
are out of order.
order.WHAT
WHAT TO DO.
There is comfort in the knowledge so often
expressed , that Dr. Kilmer's Swamp Root , the
great kidney remedy , fulfils every wish in re
lieving pain in the back , kindeys , liver , blad
der and every part of the urinary passages. It
corrects inability to hold urine and scalding
pain in passing it , or bad effects following use
of liquor , wine or beer , and overcomes that
unpleasant necessity of being compelled to
get up many times during the night to urinate.
The mild and the extraordinary effect of
Swamp-Root is soon realized. It stands the
highest for its wonderful cures of the most
distressing cases. If you need a medicine you
should have the best. Sold by druggists.pnce
fifty cents and one dollar. You may have a
sample bottle and pamphlet both sent free by
mail. Mention The Tribune and send your
