When it comes to difficult engineering feats American l railway construction will compare with ' any in the world. Of the numerous complaints entered against the railroads of this country , few relate to the me- ' chanical and engineering aspects of rail- * wav work. ' The Interstate Commerce commission j report reads a scathing denunciation of j ticket brokerage and ticket brokers. It calls the business an illegitimate traffic f and a positive scandal , and demands legislation - islation to put an end to its abuses. It j fails , hovever , to allude to the notorious : fact that the ticket brokers have been j encouraged and held up by the railroads t and even at times provided with special low rate tickets for the very purpose of evading restrictions imposed by the interstate - terstate law. The brokers could not possibly - e exist sanction of the sibly without the j railroad companies. If the companies really want ticket brokerage abolished have it within their they entirely power j to accomplish their purpose. Let them a provide patrons the same accommodations - tions for the same money that the brokers - j ers do and the latter will no longer have an excuse for existence. It looks as if the railroads are raising a cry against the brokers simply to divert attention s from some of their own misdoings Bee. 1 C i Sandy Robber Say , Cul , do 3'er know \vy I uident fetch dat millionare , last night ? .
