NORTH DIVIDE NUBBINS.
Joe Saunders has been on the sick list for
a number of days past.
Elsworth Ward has been confined to the
house with a sore throat
S. D. McClain met with quite a severe ac
cident , one day last week , while manipulat
ing his self binder , the needle penetrating
his hand making a painful and severe wound.
W. S. Hanlein of Bartley is on hand with
his binder. At present he is cutting that
small piece of wheat for George llanlein.
When taken care of it will be for sale at
S1.50 per bushel.
Glen , the six-year old son of Mr. and Mrs.
J.S. Modrell , fell fiom a frightened pony , last
Tuesday , breaking his right arm below the
elbow. A doctor was hastily summoned and
the child is doing nicely at this writing.
Eev. H. H. Berry of McCook will preach at
the North Divide Sunday school , next Sun
day , August 2d. As Uro. Berry comes from
quite a distance let us favor him with a full
house that he may feel lepaid for the time
spent.
Miss Emma Hanlein has been engaged to
teach the fall and winter teim of school in the
Spaulding district. The term begins Sept. 1.
Her many friends unite in wishing her suc
cess , and we feel assured that under the gen
tlemanly directorship of Mr. I.W. Spaulding
she will have the encouragement so essential
to one in such an undei taking. CONNIE.
Specimen Cases.
S. H. Clifford. New Cassel , Wis. , was troub
led with neuralgia and rheumatism , his stomach
ach was disordered , his liver was affected to
an alarming degree , appetite fell away , and
he was terribly reduced in llesh and strength.

A harvest dance , Saturday night last , at Joe
Dodge's , and it was well patronized , too.

A load of meeting-goers from Win. Kelph's
were at the Lone Star quarterly meeting , last
Sunday , and were caught in the ruin in ttie
