Hiis become a great newspaper in a viirv few
years. It 1ms floured wide circulation and
commardlncintlucncoin so short a. timo that
older newspapers marvel at its success. The
record of its cnrocr is like that of Kansas City's
wonderful er < wtl inoro like fasciuntlng fiction
than cold fncit , . It is only eishtoon years old , yet
it is road and admired by the people of tho great
Kouthwest , now having over H.OOO.OUO popula
tion. Knjoyius the advantages for quick de
livery ollbrded by sixteen railroads , THE TIMES
IB thoroughly distributed over an immense
territory ntan early hour. It has attained an
unapproachable circulation among thoea whose
favor is most zealously courted by judicious
ndvertisers. Moderate charges for space and
satisfactory results havo popularized its ad
vertising columns. THE TIMES is always
bright , noway and entertaining , and is worth

O
How .slowly doth the ice king iclaxhis
grasp.
The young people indulged in a party , last
Tuesday evening , at Mrs. Turner's , in honor
of the departuie of Miss Bell Scott.
The hour of preaching service has been
changed from 11 A. M. , to 10 A. M. Hereaf
ter Sunday School will commence at 11
o'clock , A. M.
Judging from icports , it must be somewhat
warmer in the southern pait of Fountier
county than in Bed Willow , at least to tin ee
or four of the citizens of that section.
Miss Scott , who has been spending the win
ter thus far with her aunt , Mrs. Turner , re
turned to lierhomeinMibsouii , on Wednes
day last. Humor has it , that she will re
turn e'er long and cheer the heart of some
lonely bachelor. We hope .10.
The Box Elder Literary Society is still in

Stiff on Earth.
If you arc in any way interested in the
subject , experience of Mr. A. C. McGrew , a
merchant at Manhattan , Iowa , may be of
value to you. Head what he says :
' 'About a year ago T was very sick with a
severe attack of lung trouble , i tried a great
many physicians and they all told me I had
quick consumption , and I was entirely given
up , so weak I could hardly walk. I travel
ed all through Nebraska and Colorado to
try and get relief , but without effect. Often
times alter a severe spell of coughing my
friends would cover me np , expecting every
moment I would breathe my last. I was then
brought back home , and as a last resort ,
"like a drowning man catching at a straw , " '
I began using Chamberlain's Cough Kemedy
and the result is , I am strong , healthy and
well , attending to my business Chamber-
Iain's Cough Jfemedy I shall recommend as
long as I live , for to that I owe everything. ' '
