History Society, Native Sons and ^ Daughters Meet Annual Sessions With Notable Addresses to Take Place Next Week in . Lincoln. Preceding the annual meetings of the Nebraska State Historical society this year is a meeting and banquet of the Native Sons and Daughters of Nebraska. This society works in co-operation with the State Historical society to preserve the record and honor the achievements of Nebraska. Its annual meeMng and banquet will be held at the Lincoln hotel, Lincoln, next Monday evening at 6:15. Some original features of far-reaching Im portance to the state will he presented at this meeting. President M. E. Vance will preside and the outgong nml Incoming governors are among the invited guests. The annual business meeting of the historical society will he held Tues day at 10 In the University Library building. At this meeting will be presented nn address upon "Nebraska Water Power’’ by George W. Stein meyer of Beatrice. The annual presidential address by Dr. If. B. Lowry will be upon the subject of "Racial Sources of Nebras ka Indians.” The annual meeting of the execu tive board follows the morning ses sion. At this meeting the president and other officers for the ensuing year will be chosen for the board. Members of the historical society will generally attend the annual luncheon of Nebraska Territorial Pio neers held at the Grand hotel at noon. The State Historical society rooms in the library building will be open for all friends of the society and citi zens generally from 2 to 5 in the aft ernoon. < The evening session of the histori cal! society will he held in Art hall, State University Library building, at 7:3.1. Phoenix, Yuma, Brawley, Indio, Itedlands, Colton, and over the Valley boulevard into Los Angeles. The last 100 miles were made through a bitter storm, the Stude baker bucking winds of 40 to 50-mile velocity. The time mads by Lester and Payne constitutes a record, for no other stock automobile ever has been asked to make a nonstop run over this route before as It covers some of the worst roads In the southwest. Check ing In for official time records, Les ter and Payne declared they had been compelled to make several long de tours In the Imperial valley because of road construction under way. Rushlau, who has been chief clerk to Master Mechanic Guler of Wymore division of the Burling ton railroad here for the last two y-ears, a fornfer mechanical employe on the Omaha division of the road, has been appointed to a position as efficiency clerk on the staff of Vice-President E.
