POLICEMAN ROUTS YEGGS: KIDNAPED Cracksmen Leave Behind Kit of Safe Tools in Flight. Yeggmen who were discovered pre paring to blow the safe In the Jewel Tea company, 1911 Cuming street, at 3 a. m. Wednesday, captured the of ficer who surprised them, marched him half a mile away, stripped him of his gun and badge, nnd made their escape. The officer, Patrolman C. O. Smith, saw a dim light in the store as he passed the window. As he peered In, suspecting that burglars were at work, a gun was shoved into his hack and he was gruffly ordered to put up his hands. He complied, and the voice com manded him to walk west. With his captor walking a step behind him. Smith was marched to the Central High school grounds. There he was forced into a dark corner of the building and compelled to stand with his face to the wall while his captor searched him and took his gun, car tridges and badge. With a parting command to Smith to remain motionless, the bandit then fled west from the high school grounds. Smith immediately raced for a tele Real Estate Transfers.
