LEADER OF MOOSE ' TO TALK IN OMAHA Past Head of Order to Tell of Work on Behalf of Children. "Take^ care of the children, the future citizens of this great country." is the slogan of Judge J. Willis Pier son, past supreme dictator of the Loyal Order of Moose, here to speak to the Omaha lodge Thursday night in the Crounse block. The judge's particular interest Is In the supervision of Mooseheart, estab lished 11 years ago at Mooseheart, I J. Willis Pierson. 111., for the care of boys and girls of members of the order. The visitor's interest in childhood extends even be yond Mooseheart, for he is interested in all boys and girls who need help and encouragement. "I am associated in this work with _ James J. Davis, who is secretary of labor in President Coolidge's cabinet and director general of the Loyal Order of Moose,” Judge Pierson said. "At Mooseheart we now have nearly 1,300 boys and girls who occupy and use 200 buildings on 1,093 acres. We teach 26 vocations, have a band of 110 players and we believe our in stitution is one of the best of its kind in the world. Judge Pierson will speak before the Lions club in Council Bluffs and the Rotary club at Fremont during the week. He stated that his organiza tion now has 650,000 members in the United States. PHYSICIAN DENIES ILLNESS FROM GAS Dr. Alfred Jefferson, 6T9 Brundeis theater building, who became ill four weeks ago in his office from the ef. fects of chlorine gas, denies emphatic ally a report that he nearly died from experiments with the gas. Dr. Jefferson, who Is physician for the Nebraska School for the Deaf. Is at present at work on a machine for treating colds and other bronchial itlmenta of students. Report was that Dr. Jefferson was in bed three ( weeks. "It is all a lie," said the doctor, "I didn't even leave my office the afternoon the gas made me ill and I haven't been away from my office since that time." OMAHA DOCTOR TO MAKE TALK, Dr. Charles P. Jn a few moments Madam Louise trans formed Miss Porter into an attrac tive girl of today with bobbed hair, straight tight gown and a new com plexion. Another model paraded upon the stage with American beauty gown, blue cape and white wig. Pages dressed in Hindu costume stood at attention as the models paraded. Miss Agnes Brittiau and Miss Kluine Bredin danced. Parade In Negligee. Preceding the talk by Madam Louise, 20 girls sat before mirrors and had their hair dressed In vari ous styles of coiffure. Blondes, brunettes, brown-haired girls, some with long curls, some with straight hobs, yielded their locks to culling irons of all sizes. After one hour of sitting before' the mirrors for work by experienced hairdressers, the girls ANPREW SMITH RITES THURSDAY Funeral services for Andrew Smith, 81, pioneer Omahan, who died Mon day at a local hospital after a long illness, will be held at St. John church at 9 Thursday morning. Burial will be in Holy Sepulcher cemetery. Mr. Smith, a resident of Omaha for 10 years, was a pensioner of the Union Pacific railroad for 10 years. He was an expert in the iron and steel department of the railroad, and in the early '80s, while Jay Gould toured the road, the latter highly complimented Smith for his knowl edge in this work. Mr. Smith is survived by three sons. Kdward A., of Omaha, former state legislator; Andrew J., of Chica go, and the Rev. Thomas J. Smilh, S J., of Cleveland. He came to this country from County Cavan. Ireland, when he was 17. He lived at 2504 Chicago street.
