-Movies Made by Boy Producer of Omaha Are Shown Pictures of World Fliers Here, Product of Fred Hamilton, Entertain Continental Club. , Motion pictures produced hy Fred Hamilton, 12, son of the president of the Merchants National bank, were ♦shown Friday noon In the ballroom of the Holel Fonttnell" by William and Robert Plxley to members of the Continental club. These pictures, made hy the young est producer In the west, showed the world fliers during their recent slop 'In Omaha. Motion pictures of the ■world fliers taken from the air by William Pixley also were shown. The. series shown by the Pixleys Included operations performed in a local hospital. The films used are smaller than the ordinary size and are intended primarily for educational purposes. Various local scenes shown to the club members Included Mr. and Mrs. Guy Smith, Lester Hevn and small daughter, scenes In Elmwood park, Curling contests at Miller park. Next Friday noon Roy Page of the Nebraska Power company's organiza tion will address the Continental club. Woman Injured by Fall. Peafrire, Oct. It.—Mrs. W. L. Leigh slipped nnd fell from the bark porch fit her home on East Court street, injuring hrr spin* and tearing the ligaments loose in her hip. It will he some weeks before she recovers from her injuries. I ----' 1 Caravans of Gypsies T raveling Eastward in High-Powered Cars v_y QoJumbu*, Oct. 3.—The annual mi gration of gypsies from California to the larger cities of the east Is brim ing daily caravans through Nebras / along the Lincoln highway. Nomads, who once traveled in cov ered wagons, now are hurled along in high powered closed cars of the $3,0$)0 to $5,000 class. Older women and men still cling to the standard costumes of gaudy colors. Fortune telling is only a sideline now. They are taking orders for cook ing utensils, subscriptions for maga zines and are peddling from house to house. The average caravan this fall is accompanied by a truck that carries tent and living utensils. Fngineers \Iake Survey of Electric Company Plants Columbus. »b., Oct. 3.—In order to learn how much new machinery Is needed to Increase the capacity of the light plant of the Northwestern Public Service cnmpajiy here, so that It will be able to handle the, rapidly growing demand for electricity, especially in the rural districts, four company engineers are making: v complete survey of the properties here. H. >f. Kohertson. manager for the company, declares that this Is part of a general project to he car ried on throughout South Dakota and Nebraska along the Northwestern Service company's lines. Farmers Getting Good Prices for Grain Crops Beatrice, Oct. 3.—Lyman Bednar, farmer living near Krider, Neb., finished threshing his wheat and eats crops from the stack and re rsived s vield of 40 bushels of wheat, to ths acre and 50 bushels of oats. Most of the grain threshed from the stack Is being marketed direct to the elevators. Wheat is bringing *1.20 a bushel and oats 45 cents a buehel. Corn Is selling around a dollar, and grain dealers predict that it will r4arh *1.50 a bushel before the first of the year. Paxes to Be Increased io Shenandoah in 192.‘> Shenandoah, la., Oct. 3.—According to the unofficial figures on the ad vance tax-levy for Shenandoah, taxes will increase 27.X mills in 1025. The tolal will l>e 3 61.7 as compared to 133.9 for 1924. The taxable property in the city amounts to $930,933. The total millage for Clarinda. the other large town in this county, as given out unofficially at the. auditor’s office, is 166.1, a reduction from 1924 when it w as 200.6. Married 50 Years.
