After Chicago had jump ed into the lead, Charley Robertson suddenly weakened, and Washington took the lead in the fluid inning by Inineliing hits, with errors hy Itavia I and Falk. They continued the at tack in tlie fourth and drove Uohcrt t"ii off (lie mound. Ted Itlankrn.diip up the liiirden and W.ishiiiglon was able to glean only one hit off him. The cold weather liegan to tell on Mogridge and he was replaced by Marberry. The big right-hander was unsteady when he took up the piti-li iug burden for ttie Senators in the seventh, and the White Sox seared two runs and threatened to go ahead. Twice after that, the locals got men within scoring distance but sensa tional fielding pulled Maberry out of the holes.
