' Yanks Celebrate Return Home by Pounding Out Double Victory Over Browns - s Pennock Hurls Champs to Win in Initial Contest Shocker, St. Louis Ace, Loses Pitchers’ Duel to Joe Bush in Second r Affair. KYV YORK. Aug. IS— The New York Yankees celebrated their return to their home grounds today by defeating St. Louis in a double-head er, 1 to 0, and 2 to 1. Pennock, the left handed star, defeated Wlngard In the first game in a pitch ing duel. Tn the second game Bush earned a close decision from Shocker. In the sixth Hals started a rally by banging a home run with one on. Wells relieved Stoner after 6 runs had crossed the plate and with two runners still on the bases.
