Izaak Walton Bill Passes 4 Washington, June 6.—The Izaak Walton league's, Vpper Mississippi Wild Life and Fish refuge bill was unanimously passed by the house Thursday evening. The chances of passage by the senate are excellent. The upper Mississippi preserve con sists of 343,000 acres of river bottom lands lying between Rock Island, 111., and Wabash, Minn. RALPH DF PALMA TO RACE IN FRANCE Los Angeles. June 6.—Ralph T>e Palma, veteran Italian racing pilot, who several months ago jumped the ranks of the American Automobile association to the International Motors' Contest association, today announced that he would leave Los Angeles within the next 10 days for France to comjiete in the grand prix race in July. While in Europe, De Palma will attempt to secure drivers Tor the Ascot gold cup road race to be held here November 27. URUGUAY SOCCER ' TEAM WINS, 2-1 By Associated Press. Paris, June 6.—The Uruguayan Olympic soccer football team, favor ites for the Olympic title, today won their way to the final round by de feating the Dutch team. Omaha's ''fighting fool'' in the near future. Announcement to this effect was. made yesterday by offirers of Omaha ] post of the American Legion who are endeavoring to bring the champion here. Legion officials wired the champion Thursday, offering him s minimum of lin.nOO for an open air bout with Schlaifer the Fourth of July. Schlaifer has been on the trail of the champ ever since their meeting a >ear ago and feels he will give a much better account of himself than he did in the previous bout. L'chlalfer today Is the most likely contender for the Jersey boxer's crown. In his last few fights the Omaha battler has given a good ac count of himself. It was but 10 days ago that Morrle stopped Johnny Carr of Cleveland in less than three min utes. * Walker is in prime condition, as was shown in his fight with Lew Tendler last Monday night.
