P. v_J New Haven, Conn., June 4.—The energy produced by a Vale oarsman during a race is equal to four horse power, Professor landed Henderson of Vale announced today. Experi ments conducted with a special ap paratus at the Vale bureau of health prove that only one-fourth of the energy produced by an oarsman goes toward driving the boat, a higher ef ficiency than most steam or gaso line engines attain.
