MURPHY FAILS TO REPORT TO BEARS I»enver, Colo, April 22.—Robert '(Duxsl Murphy, outfielder, recently purchased by tho Denver club of the Western league from tho Minneapolis club of the American association due to Join tha Denver teem at St. Jo seph Tuesday, has refused to report to the Denver club. Murphy, who played with the Dee Moines club of the Western league last year under option of the Minneapolis club, was on the "black list" of organised base ball two years ago because of hie re fusal to report. Following his purchase from the Minneapolis club. Murphy Monday was given transportation to St. Jo seph but Tuesday returned the transportation with the. statement that he was "not going to report or play ball this year."
