A elow demand for corn, some In oreaee In the movement and generally favorable weather for planting all served to take the edge off the yellow cereal. Premiums locally were un changed lo %e lower. Trade was largely local, there also being some liquidation In the nearby deliveries A better cash situation was reported In the southwest. Oats followed other grain* lower. Trade was less ai ti\o> Rye dropped with the rest. Liqui dation hit tlie market at the outset and on the dips shorts covered. The lack of export demand for rye Is even more pronounced than for wheat. Provision* eased under scattered selling. Lard and ribs dosed 5SJ7'ic lower. Pit Notes. Slocks of wheat in most primary markets are decreasing fairly well at the moment, but not. at such a rate as to indicate anything like scarcity at the end of the crop year. Min neapolis wheat supplies for three daya showed a. reduction of 225,000 bushels. At Kansas City stocks are being lowered. This Is due largely to the shnrp falling off In the move ment from the farms, not especially because of any great Improvement In the domestic cash demand. There was fair Improvement In the milling demand locally, and premiums all around were strong for the choice milling grades. Export demand for United States grain Is still out of the question, even though tbs situation Is probably healthier than for months. Cables from -Europe tell of an active and better appreciation for present grain values. AVorld shipments of wheat since last July have been considerably lr excrss of the previous season. The European consumptive demand ha* been increased the while. The world * available supply of wheat and flour for the week showed a decrease of 5 6S3.000 bushels. Foreign spring crops are getting s bad start, all of which may lead to a broader defer red demand. Weather condition* generally over the winter wheat belt were favor able. A*ldo from *pot* In nouthcin and central Illinois, southern Indiana and part* of the Ohio valley, the winter crop Is progressing nicely. Flattering yield* seem assured In the southwest, while In the American northwest moisture 1* ample, and a wonderful start lias been made in seeding operation*.
