WOMMS’S MEW: -IF -- - - *-€an a Woman Love Two Men at Same Time? -« By MARTHA ALLEN. Can a woman love two men at the ♦ame time? Lucille asks this ques tion, which Is very difficult to an swer. "I have gone with a man for a number of years whom I alwa.ys ihought I loved. Recently I met an other man and find that 1 am rapid ly falling in love with him. Rut my love for’ the first man has not de creased, so what shall I do?" writes this young lady of 25 years. This Is a twist of affairs that Is not uncommon. Girls in such entan glements of the heart strings are either in love with love itself, in fatuated with one or both of the men, or partly satisfied with the at tention from each. Real love is something that de munds full rights and seldom has rivals in tow. There ought to be a sense of completion, a feeling that the right man has been found when it is in the heart. It set ms as if a girl is consumed with indecision only when her whole heart is not in volved in the affair. If she loved one man she wouldnt wan t to see any one else. There would not be any need for the questions in this letter. When a girl finds herself asking these questr.ns it is easy to guess that she loves neither man. Kuril a girl may enjoy what one or both may be able to give iier in admiration, at tenfion, and thrills from love making. She probably enjoys their friendship, the good times they can give her. and the pleasure of the conquest. Khe is orobably giving herself a gay time playing the world-old game of , coquette. * Love goes too deep for doubting so I the feelings that Lucille has for botli these men is just surface emotion. - just infatuation. The real emotion ’.seldom doubts and never wavers. It is always very positive, in fact, so • .positive that there will he no need 1 for anyone giving advice or assist ■ anoe in the choice of the right man. Dangerous Man. ' Dear Miss Allen: I am 20 years old and married. 1 have been ir.«rried for five years. My husband is 27 and is very good to ine. He takes me out ’ for a good time on Sunday and buys me clothes when I need them. But the thing is that he is going out with a man X just hate. Every time my husband goes out with this man I feel Hue and get rnad, too. I don’t speak go my husband for the whole day. He sees that I get mad and it makes „ Jiina mad to see me mad. He says Jhat this man is not a thief or a mafi who will fight with anyone. He tells me that If I do not stop getting mad that he will do something that I will ke sorry for. This man drinks and I think he takes my husband where there are flappers. Still my husband says that he loves me very much. He tells me that he wouldn’t go out with any other girls and I believe him. I hate to have such a feeling, but, oh— how I hate this tnan. This non h.is not done anything to me, but I think, he will spoil my husband. A FRIEND. Hatred for any one is dangerous, but especially in your case If it is going to separate you and your hus band This friend of your husband may be just as bad as you think, but ^TAynuld leave that for your husband iPWTlnd out. If he is constant in his love for you and treats you accord-; Ingly you shouldn't complain. In time he will tire of this man if he is worthless or wake up to his short comings with a jolt. He patient and by all means don’t get a “mad” on. Cultivate a large enough nature to surrender to unpleasant things that come to you. No use nursing a griev ance that will be a joy killer in your home when it really hasn't a great deal to do with you. It is hard to see your husband led into the wrTing paths, but are making matters worse by being peevish. Try to keep cheer ful and he will find home a more pleasant [tluce than any other place to which this man might take him. AI)V ERTISEM ENT. GIRLS! EFFECT Moisten Your Hair Brush! A successful solu tion submitted later than 3 days from this date will not be con sidered. The puzzle'is worth a large sum of money to advertisers. In case of tie, each tieing contestant receives the same. The plan drawn represents the foundation of a five-room house, every wall of every room therein having a door, making sixteen doors in all. To solve the puzzle syou must rewrite the plan and with a pencil or pen, draw a line showing passage through each room, and every door by using each door one time only. It makes no difference at what point you start, inside or outside the lines. You can recross your track and enter any room as many times as necessary, but you can only pass through each door one time. Each number represents a door. A picture of the first person who solves this puzzle will be published in each Omaha paper. Send your solution to D. Marino, 1112 South 13th Street, Omaha, Neb. Adele Garrison “My Hueband’n Love” Madge Made Plain Course Harriet Should Adopt. I was not prepared for Harriet's furious and suspicious query as to the source of my comment upon her too assiduous care of her brilliant husband. Like many other people, X had been so absorbed in making my point that I unconsciously had embroidered my conversational fab ric. My own observations, supple mented by Idlllan’s and bolstered by things Dicky and his mother had said concerning Uarriet's sheltering of the eminent surgeon from all annoy ance, had been responsible for my strictures. But of my own knowledge I did not know that he was known as “the man who can't get along with out his wife at every step," and 1 was abashed at her anger, although 1 did not let her guess my feeling "That I cannot tell you," I said gravely, with the mental comment that at least I was speaking the truth now, "but you may tie very sure of one thing, i did not hear it from Katherine. 'Forgive ine, .Harriet, If I have been too abrupt. I wanted only to help you." I think Mlie heard nothing at first but my assurance concerning Kath erine. The nnger died from her face, and she sank into her chair, her eyes fist'd upon the flickering flames in the grate. As for me, I sat tense ly silent, riot daring to speak, won dering if I had destroyed my chance of helping her. When she looked up at me at last, every vestige of fury had died from her eyes. "You—have—helped me," she said du)I>. “It Is only what I have gllmtiaed niyself many times, but 1 always have pushed the thought away, because Edwin seemed to need me so. He really did, Margaret —"her face was abjectly pitiful as she looked up at me—"lie seemed lost without me." How I longed at that minute to put Into her arms a child, near enough in kinship to have a right to her love, yet sorrowful, neglected, needing swift and unremitting care ami lavish affection. I saw clearly enough that Its was the thwarted maternal in stinct of the woman who through a mistaken ideal had sacrificed moth erhood to her husband's career which had led her to such unnecessary shielding of her husband from all con tact with the rough edges of life. Children in her home—but that was impossible, and as the vision of them for her faded from my eyes 1 rope from my chair, and taking her hands pulled her to her feet, facing me. "Look here, Harriet,” I said rough ly. "you ate jumping from a hot hut tenable frying pan Into a fire which will shrivel you in an Instant, Edwin does need you, always has, aJ ways will. Don’t run away with the idea that your course has been abso lutely wrong. It's only that there has been too much of it. There is no doubt that you have helped him ma terially. and he Is lost without you. What I am telling you Is only that you should accustom him gradually to rely more upon h.mself for the little details of life. Don't take It so se riously. tio down to the farm and put Kdwin and everybody else save yourself out of your mind for awhile. Your mother won't Rive you time to think of Edwin or your duties, she will be so busy talkiriR and I will make you a present of Junior while you are there.
