Wheat closed unchanged to %c higher, corn was steady to %c advanced, oats were unchanged to 4c lower and rve duled %<rr%c down. News was more cheerful from a bull standpoint and there seemed to he le.-.c tatention paid to the politic M news emanating from Washington. The frost reported in the Argentina was given j credence and led to a higher range ut the outset The seaboard confirmed ex port sales of 400.000 to 500.000 bushels of wheat. Dorn acted firm most of the dnv. Despite the weakness in < ash and Mm hedging operations by the northwest there was sufficient commission house buying encouraged to take care* of the offerings. The spot market firmed near the last hecatis** of reports from the northwest that there was export busi ness in com being done via the gulf. Trade in oats was dull Commission house buying was centered In the May. while liquidation of the December made that month relatively easy Rye followed other grains early, but then weakened under scattered selling. I’M Noll**. The majority in the Made seemed to anticipate a decrease in the visible sup ply for the week. So when the posting <»f the changes showed an Increase of over 700,000 bushels considerable selling followed, this accounting for the final dip. That the world's consumption demand for wheat is healthy again is proven by the fact that wheat and flour on ocean passage the last week Increased but 1.240,000 bushels in the face of heavy shipments, totalling 15,728.000 bushels. The Winnipeg market acted relatively firm compared with rhirago.
