Patients Talk While Being Operated Upon Dcs Moines, la., Oct. 31.—Motion pictures of patients conversing with nurses and surgeons while major operations were in progress were shown by Dr. Robert E. Farr of Minneapolis, who spoke on the use of local anethesla. Dr. Farr said he had found radio concerts and talk-] lng machines of value in entertaining patients where operations were car ried on with local anethesla. No portion of the body need be exempt ed from such treatment, he declared. Dr. Byron B. Davis of the Univer sity of Nebraska told the 'physicians that experiment* of the last year had not advanced the search for the cause of cancer. “We only know It I* a cell that has lost its normal relations and has become an outlaw," he said. Dr. Davis declared the man who has physical limitations and lives within them as he lives within his bank account will live longer than will the man who thinks ho has no ailments. Aged Couple Weds.
