“Drive and Hug” Style of Motoring Banned by Los Angeles Edict 1,08 Angeles, Aug. 30—Tlie ‘‘drl-*e and hug” style of motoring:—one hand on the wheel and the other about a flapper's waist—is barred by a new order being enforced by the I/Os Angeles traffic officers. From now on a driver's hand, if parked about a lady’s waist, will draw the same kind of a “tag” *s a car parked beside a hydrant. One “drive and hug" exponent, tagged yesterday was told by the officer to use both hands. “Can't do it,” he replied, "I need one hand to drive with.” J3ee Want Ads produce results. Mark Vendors Profit. New York, Aug. 30— German marks, which made ft new low record today, dropping to 10' cents a mil lion, were being sold by street ven dors at 20 cents for 10,000. One of the vendors, making a profit of 20, 000 per cent, had to make several trips to a foreign exchange in order to replenish his supply. Each trip he bought 10 cents worth—one million— and on each dime invested he realized $20. Even Wall Street admitted that was a good margin. “Quarantine Derby” On New York, Au*.
