Omahans Will Leave for Yankton Tuesday Omaha business men will leave at 10 tonight for Yankton, S. D., and a short tour of that state to get acquainted. More prominent men will make this tour than ever before on a trade excursion, according to officers of the Chamber of Commerce. John L. Kennedy, president of the United States National bank; F. H. Davis, president of the First National bank; T. C. Byrne of Byrne-Hammer, and David Cole of the King Cole com pany will be among those who will help greet the South Dakota neigh bors. "We feel It will be one of the most Important trips ever taken," said W. A. Ellis, acting secretary of the Chamber of Commerce.' "We will be the guests of honor at tire dedication of the Yankton bridge, which will open a great trade territory for Ne braska.” Cruiser Sunk. Still able to smile, despite several painful cuts about her head and face, Pretty Ruby Frahm, 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Frahm, won the hearts of Central police station attend ants Monday morning when she was taken there for treatment. The little girl was riding in the front seat of an automobile driven by her father! when the car was struck by Harney-street car No. 1032 at Elev enth and Harney streets. The flying glass cut her cheek and forehead. She probably received more atten tion than any injured person ever received at Central station. Hangers on at the police court showered her with coins, and three police doctors, Kinyoun, Greer and Hnlar. and Nurse Mahie Wright attended her. Mrs. Frahm and two other daugh ters, Hazel, 7, and Ruth, 2, were also in the car when the accident occurred. None of them was injured. The Frahma were moving from Denison, la., to their new home at Eleventh and Mason streets. The greatest depth sounded is in the North Pacific near the Island of Guam, which depth is Only 66 feet short of bIx miles. ' .—.... ■ • Packing Company Receiver Will Quit Sioux City. la.. Aug. 27.—H. G. Mc Millan will resign as receiver for Ihs Midland Packing company. This fact was disclosed at the open ing of a hearing today in Pnited States district court on the petition filed by five stock holders of the Midland de manding the removal of Mr. McMil lan as receiver. They charged gross mismanagement of the Midland affairs by Mr. McMil lan and also extravagance and ineffi ciency. Federal Judge T. C. Munger, who had been nr .^frnod to preside over the hearing, adjourned court after noon when it is expected further de velopments v, ill he annonuneed and probably the appointment of the new receiver. Six Dead, One Injured When Train Hist Auto Binghamton, Aug. 27.—Six per sons were killed and a seventh proba. bly fatally injured when their auto mobile was struck at Gray's Crossing by an Erie railroad train early Sun day. The dead: M. P.udla, Tony Kamin sky, Karto Huberik. Mary Huberik till of Endicott, and Frank HardicV and Katy Twaryones of Binghamton All were bc-twe n 25 and 35 years old The accident occurred in a dens< fog.
