A cotlple of weeks later I saw him in a theater. He sent his friend over to tell me he wished to speak to me. I told the friend that if he wished to speak to me he should come over to A me. He refused. J like this young man very much and would like to explain about the appointment. How can ! do this diplomatically? V. M. C. M. Conquer your self-consciousness. Why should yOu be rude to a business acquaintance who has tried to be , friendly to you and for w hom you | have real regard? Yon need not con clude that every man who tried to lie friendly to you is thinking of pro posing to you the first time you have luncheon with him. It would be common courtesy to speak to him. You should not encourage social calls at your business office Thoughts for the Housewife. Wooden ware should dry away from -the fire to avoid cracking*. Borax added to the water in which pudding bags are washed will greatly facilitate the process. Some of the flavor of preen vege tables will be lost if they are allowed to stand in cold water for several hours before cooking. The Home Fire llrlll. Children- of the home should be taught plain facts concerning lire dangers. Impress upon them ; h« folly of t tinning about if their cloth ing is on file. Teach them that it Is better to smother tha, flames with a iug or quilt rather than fan the flames and spread them all over ihe body. Careful washing with soda water will remove the soot caused by the smoking of an oil lamp or stove. Mrs. Harris Wants All To Know Facts of Case Print my statement' everywhere.
