Former Omahan's Letter Tells of Panama Canal A letter from Charles West of Washington, D. C„ describing a re cent trip through the Panama canal, was received by Philip Johnson, 3125 Mason street, his ne'phew. "Because of the crookedness of the isthmus the Atlantic entrance to the canal is actually west of the Pacific entrance," the letter states. The letter also declares that the locks are operated hy observing a model ship In the control room which indicates exactly the actions and posl tion of the big ahip in the real canal. — Are you reading the Rrisbane column appearing dally In this paper?
