bioux City Men Buy Missouri River Bridge Sioux City. la., June 7.—The com bination bridge over the Missouri river at Sioux City has been bought by three Sioux City men. Nearly *1,000,000 was involved in the deal, it was said. Ninety-nine per cent of the stock in me company, ■which owns the giant span across the Missouri here, now is owned by citizens of Sioux City. Announcement of the purchase was made by John A. Magoun, president of the Sioux National bank, one of the three big owners of the bridge stock. The others are B. H. Kings bury and F. L. Katon. All are offi cers of the bridge company. Work on the bridge was started in 1890 and it was finished in 189G. Peter Jansen Rites Friday at Beatrice Special Dleputch to The Omaha Bee. Beatrice, Neb., June 7.—Funeral services for Peter Jansen, prominent Nebraskan who died here yesterday will he held Friday afternoon at 2:20 at the family residence followed hy services at llic Mennonite church west of the city at 4. It was announced Thursday, dealing with the historic origin of the railroad. Another float will be sponsored by the Union Stockyard* company, rep resenting George Washington taking command of the colonial armies. Mother of Girl Killed by Motor Car Files Suit Special DUpatch to The Omaha Bee. Beatrice. Neb.. June T.—Mary Gor man. mother of Rosie Gorman, 13 who was killed in west Beatrice I few' weeks ago by an automobiit driven by Dr. L. E. Penner of this city, filed suit for $16,450 against the defendant for the death of her daughter. Of this amount $11,315 is for services lost at the death of the girl at the rate of $1 a day as a housekeeper while the mother was at work, funeral expenses amounting to <1,351, and $5,000 is for mental suffer ing from the loss of the association with her daughter, the petition states.
